Coaching Contract
Welcome to Coaching
Congratulations on taking this journey. I am excited to partner with you as you strengthen your leadership and lead a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Here is some information that will help you get started. Please read through it carefully and let me know if you have any questions.

The Coaching Structure
Coaching provides a support structure that helps you focus on and achieve the desired outcomes. My philosophy is that you have the capacity and the inner resources to approach your current life situation in a way that transforms your ability to have more of what you want and with considerably less effort. Therefore, I'll be asking a lot of questions!

As a coach, part of my job is to ask questions to help you find the most valuable answers. I will also work to help you keep true to your values and help you stay on track to get the results you want and live the life you desire.

At the beginning of our coaching, we will establish the goals or outcomes you are looking for from coaching. With that in mind, I expect that you will bring an agenda, topic or challenge you want coaching for each call. The more specific an agenda you bring to each call, the greater the outcomes you'll experience.

As your Coach, you can expect me to:
  • Be a partner in bringing out the best, the deepest, and the truest in you.
  • Provide safety, encouragement and support, an environment where you can relax and explore.
  • Respect the confidentiality of the agreements we make.
  • Expand your view of what is possible and promote the discovery of new insights.
  • Give you input and straight feedback, and operate as a sounding board.
  • Listen carefully to what you say, and ask questions that increase awareness.
  • Be an ongoing resource for you in accomplishing your intentions.

I expect that you, as my Client, will:
  • Cultivate a core honesty with yourself.
  • Commit yourself to intentions that are truly meaningful and significant to you.
  • Be open to my feedback, and keep me honestly informed about what is and is not working for you.
  • Take notes during the sessions relating to your commitments between coaching calls...aka homework!
  • Be accountable for the work you do between sessions and report back on your progress on that work.
  • Take ownership of your progress and your accomplishments.
  • Take financial responsibility for your coaching time.

My philosophy is that you have the capacity and the inner resources to approach your current life situation in a way that transforms your ability to have more of what you want and with considerably less effort.

Coaching is not Psychotherapy
Coaching services are not in any way to be construed as, or a replacement for, psychotherapy, legal counsel, or medical advice. You are responsible for creating your own decisions and results. You agree not to hold me, or any company I am affiliated with, liable for any outcomes resulting directly or indirectly from the coaching process.

Confidentiality
As your Coach represents, warrants and agrees as follows:
All information provided by you, the client, to me, your Coach, during the course of the coaching relationship, will be deemed “Confidential Information” and kept strictly confidential unless otherwise agreed in writing.  I will not disclose any communications, either verbal or written, that have taken place either between you and me or with regard to this Agreement without your prior written consent.

This confidentiality restriction also applies to testimonials, which I may use for promotional reasons only with your consent. You may request anonymity in connection with any testimonials to be used.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, “Confidential Information” does not include information that is:
(a)   previously known by myself prior to discussions regarding this Agreement, free from any obligation to keep it confidential, or
(b)   publicly disclosed by yourself either prior to or subsequent to the receipt by myself of such information, or
(c) independently developed by myself without any access to Confidential Information, or
(d)   rightfully obtained by myself from a third party lawfully in possession of Confidential Information who is not bound by confidentiality obligations to you.

I may disclose Confidential Information if required to do so under applicable law, rule or order, provided that I, where reasonably practicable and to the extent legally permissible, provide you with prior written notice of the required disclosure. Upon termination of this Agreement, I will return or, at your request, destroy all copies of the Confidential Information in my possession or control.

Credentialing requirements:
It’s important to me to maintain the highest standard of coaching. As such, I am an accredited member of the International Coach Federation and have received coaching credentials from them. To maintain those credentials, I regularly renew them, and as part of the renewal process, I must submit my coaching hours.

In signing this agreement, you provide me with your permission to keep a confidential record of your name, phone number, and email address to meet the International Coach Federation's credentialing requirements. These requirements include documenting the extent of a coach's experience regarding the number of clients and the number of coaching service hours. This information will be submitted to the ICF as part of the credentialing process and held within ICF's secure files. The ICF may contact you in the future to confirm that you were a client, but you will never be asked to discuss the content of your coaching sessions.

Coaching Timeframe
Coaching takes as long as it takes, and you can decide when it is right to take a break from coaching. While the typical coaching relationship continues to add significant value to a client's life over a 1-year period, I require no written commitment for any specific period. However, I suggest you make a mental commitment to yourself for at least an initial 3-month period. This time frame allows you to see the benefits of coaching. I also ask that you give me two weeks' notice when you wish to take a break from coaching to finish off anything we are working on properly.

Coaching is a rewarding journey. I’m excited to be on this pathway with you.
